Tomie loved the rituals, traditions, and “costumes” of monastic living, including the tradition of the O Antiphons during the last seven days of Advent.

Tomie first started sharing his O Antiphons drawings in 2013. When he again sent drawings in 2014, a former Meriden, Connecticut, high school classmate wrote, “Enough with the O Antiphons!”
Tomie quickly located the DELETE button and that former classmate became a former subscriber to his daily art-mails.
“Enough with the O Antiphons!” became an exasperated cry for us.
Granted, not as popular a saying as Lewis Carroll’s “Off with their heads” and its modern day meaning of disapproval of shameful behavior, “Enough with the O Antiphons!” was without a doubt our ultimate expression of frustration… and might someday become more widely used. (Bob)
