Tomie loved going to the Weston Playhouse in Weston, Vermont, each summer. He had already planned trips to see productions of “Kinky Boots” and “Steel Magnolias.” He would have been disappointed that the season was canceled. A stop along the way to Weston was often the Rockingham Meeting House, “the oldest building in Vermont that still exists in a condition close to its original state.” https://irma.nps.gov/Datastore/DownloadFile/577300 (Bob) Pray for Peace, Justice, and Equality

Tomie had a favorite Guy Wolff pot. It was placed in his bedroom so that it was the first thing he’d see in the morning, and the last at night. He wanted cut flowers in it as often as possible. The peonies have begun to bloom and I put three in the Wolff pot today. His favorite peony was coral. He loved the changes in color as it went from opening to spreading as wide as a sauce plate to petals dropping. http://www.guywolff.com/ (Bob) Pray for Peace, Justice, and Equality

Tomie was often asked to contribute recipes for fundraiser cookbooks. It was easy for him to share a recipe because he loved cooking and found it relaxing. The recipe, “Basic Lentil Soup,” is more suited for chilly weather. I can attest it was “delicioso,” as his friend Gene Youngken would say when he thought he was speaking… Italian. This contribution was in the 1994 “Eggs, Easels and Epicures: Mazza Collection Cookbook” from the University of Findlay (Ohio). (Bob) Pray for Peace, Justice, and Equality.
